Independent conversations, records and scene positions from inside contemporary techno.

Signal is the editorial channel of Groove Protocol.
It exists to slow the release cycle down and give context to the artists, records, labels and working methods that deserve more than a passing mention.
The focus is not volume, paid placement or automatic praise. Each transmission begins with a position and follows the work far enough to understand what gives it identity, function and lasting value.

Zero Dayz, the pairing of Eddie Santini and Alex Calver, arrive on Resilient Recordings, part of the Flatlife group, with a four-track acid-techno record. The original is reworked by The Southern, D.A.V.E. The Drummer and Juliana Yamasaki, pressed as a limited vinyl run.
Framework 01 opens RE:CODE, the independent techno platform founded in Osijek in 2018 by Xenex. A various-artists set of eight tracks that sets the frame the rest of the catalogue will be judged against.

Signal follows the work, not the noise. If a record, an artist or a label earns the room, it is read here in full.
